Andreas on assignment at and

ayonds Andreas Marklund has been working with DN and DI since early 2019, creating new graphic guidelines for both DN and DI. We asked him about what he’s been up to over at their offices:

“My primary task at DN was to create a new graphic design system together with the product team. I also worked with graphic updates, campaigns and purchase flows. For example I was the lead designer for the newly released DN Filmklubb, a service that you can subscribe to as a package deal for DN, filled with all kinds of perks for those who enjoy movies.

For DI, I worked as a Visual Designer in the product team. There I created a new UI-guideline kit and was also part of creating a new design concept. I also worked with general updates on the current design for the app and web.”

New design for Indiska

“Have you noticed the beauty all around you? – the opening line from a song by Åke Thambert, one of the people who has shaped the Indiska brand into what it is today. The line is not about Indiska specifically, but it is undeniably fitting. Indiska is the store that want to display its passion for India, the countries craft, colors and materials. And they are in need of ayond’s help.

They are going through major changes, and their e-commerce is a big part of this. Therefore, they need help with UX- as well as design for several parts of their system, among other things their omnichannel and their loyalty club and its graphical profile which needs to be fully responsive. The new design for Indiska has been noted in this article in Market.

ayond is going to work on design and UX in several projects. It is still too early to reveal anything more than that, but you can expect big changes. Just imagine how beautiful it will be around you!ring er!

ayond goes to Nordic.js

Nordic.js is a single track JavaScript conference with talks by internationally renowned speakers and rising stars in the JavaScript community. Previous speakers includes Karolina Szczur, Guillermo Rauch, Rachel Andrew, Mariko Kosaka, and Jeremy Keith. The 10-11th of October this years version of Nordic.js goes underway. At ayond we have three developer going to the conference; Robert Horngren, Anna Lindström and Viktor Andersson.

Nordic.js is made by developers for developers. Their ambition is to inspire but also to be inspired, to meet and learn from others and to strenghten the JavaScript community.

Robert, Viktor and Anna had this to say about the conference.

Robert: I’m mostly hoping to be inspired. I want to be aware of whats going on in tech; whats available today but also what will be in the future. Earlier years I have followed Noric.js’s live stream and thats what really got me interested to actually be there. It’s very innovative, what they talk about; it might not be things you use today, but they are at the forefront of showing what is possible to do with JavaScript.

Viktor: I heard of the conference through their other event Code in the Dark, where i participated a few times. I wanted to go after I was told about it by some other participants I know.

Anna: I also heard of it through Code in the Dark, in which I will actually participate this year! I’m looking forward to many of the speakers, primarily the ones talking about React, React Native, Typescript, VR & AR and TensorFlow.

Guldbrevs new sites

Guldbrev buys the gold you don’t need, quick and easy over the internet! But to be the best in the business they have to innovate and adjust. In the spring of 2018, Google introduced changes that would impact sites with separate mobile and desktop sites negatively. Guldbrev would have been affected by these changes.

Guldbrevs websites used old EPiServer-versions, and Guldbrev felt that the licenses cost more than they offered. They also wanted new UX and UI design, as well as appear higher on Google searches to better reach their target audience.

We conducted studies, workshops and SEO analysis to prepare for the project. ayond has now created new sites, and thereby new experiences, for Guldbrevs’ end users. This includes abroad, since Guldbrev are active in Norway and Finland as well, and these markets require their own sites.

But the work is not over! ayond continues to implement new functions like Bank-ID, and conduct A/B tests in order to make the site into the best it can possibly be.

If you want to know more about the project you can do so here.

ayond works with a basis in our innovation model. When working with innovation, we apply different models depending on what type of project it is. Books like “Business Model Generation” and “Lean Startup” have been great inspirational resources.

With a grounding in service design and innovation methodology, we examine how we can improve the client experience and support the treatment process through digital tools.

We start with a Discovery phase consisting of two moments:

Part 1: Understand

Part 2: Define & Ideate (utforma)

Followed by the next step; concretizing the digital service developed. This part can look diffrent depending on what insights earlier parts provided, but can, for example, involve prototyping and user tests.

The project resulted in a prioritized and time-constrained backlog/requirement specification for digital tools, which simplify the treatment process for both employees and clients
